My question to eldercare ABC is whether you are aware of an agencies provincially that do home assessents?
Is there a possibility that an agency exists that could do a home visit assessing any further personal safety needs along with suggestions as to availability of most up to date safety devices that can be further implemented for them so as to support their desire to live independently as long as they are able to?

Hi Pat,
I'd suggest that you review your provincial government's website as a starting place. On the website, you will find a senior services phone number to call where you can ask your specific question about home inspections.
I would also ask your family member's doctor to request that an occupational therapist visit your parent's home for an assessment. An OT can watch your parent perform common household functions and make suggestions on how to make it safer and easier for your parent.
Hope this helps.
